Halloween is probably one of my most favorite holidays!! This year, for some reason I was really feeling the Halloween spirit, and decided to get crafts for the kids to do to every night last week! We had a blast each night, and this is something I will repeat for sure next year! We also had a number of Halloween events that made the week extra special as well! All was properly documented on camera, of course, except in all the excitement I did not get one picture of me in my costume...Betty Homemaker, fitting I think :-)
Monday: Foam Sticker Grave Yard
Tuesday: Pumpkin Carving
We decided to let Grant paint his pumpkin instead of carve it, that way he could be more involved!
We always have hot cocoa when we carve pumpkins.
Finished products
Wedneday: Halloween Cookies
I made Halloween cookies and let the kids (Nick included) decorate them...they were really yummy!
Thursday: Jaxson had a test the next day, so we ran out of time!
Friday: The big Halloween Party at School and painting haunted houses.
Jaxson and his friend both dressed up as Duck Fans...this was a popular costume at his school :-)
The 3rd Grade!
Proving that not even college football can separate these two!
Saturday: Halloween Party/Duck Game
This year I decided to host the Annual Halloween Party! Usually, this is an adult activity, but with all the new babies in the group we decided to make it kid friendly, and wouldn't you just know it, an Oregon Duck's game was on as well! Our normal dance party was replaced with screaming, yelling, and dirty diapers, but I don't think we would have it any other way!
Waiting for our guests to arrive, the boys were being silly.
First to arrive our friend Logan the monkey!
Aubrey the duck was next to arrive!
Fireman Nick!
The cute little kitty the Fireman rescued from a tree, Leah!!!
Next, our future country club pro Tristan came with his adoring parents!
Lastly, one sleepy lady bug, Amelia!!
Ali and Amelia!
Tristan decided to start army crawling while he was here...trying to keep with Logan and Aubrey!
My niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Brayden came over too!!
Nick and his friend Mike.
This is what our dance parties have turned into....complete chaos, the best kind possible though!
Sunday: Halloween!!!
The morning started out with a house cleaning, and then cookie making again! Jaxson has to do a service project each month, so we thought it would be nice to take some cookies over to my grandparents at their nursing home.
This is the only picture I got of myself all week! It's a cute one though!
The boys getting some candy from MaMaw, that is what we call my grandma.
My sisters and I were all able to get the kids over there at the same time! I think MaMaw and PaPaw were in heaven!
Carter in his Gorilla costume, so stinkin cute!
Jaxson passing out cookies to some of the other residents.
After a quick stop at my sister's house for some homemade chili we went over to our friend's house so that Jaxson could do some trick-or-treating with his best friend:
We then came home so the kids could go around our neighborhood as well! As you can see Jaxson's real costume was the Grim Reaper, unfortunately he was not able to wear it at school, and we did not think it was appropriate at the nursing home. I was really happy that the weather held out and it was a perfect night for the kids to be outside!
The loot!! Nick brought Grant home early and he pretty much went straight to bed, he was so exhausted, but he had so much fun! Jaxson finished up with one of our neighbor friends and this was his take. I think he has enough candy to last til next year!
What an exciting week filled with lots of exciting events!! I really think I got my fill of Halloween this year and am happy to say, see ya next year. Now I just need to shred Grant's Spider man costume and I will be finished!
