BCS National Championship Game

As most of you know we have been waiting all season for this big game! I believe we bought our airline tickets back in October in hopes that the Ducks would go all the way......and boy did they!! We flew down to Phoenix late Sunday night and were up bright and early Monday morning in order to be apart of whatever was going to happen that day. We had planned on meeting up with a couple friends and my parents, but really had no set plans. We got into a "Duck Pep Rally", and got to meet so many great new people from all over the country. We walked around Westgate, which was the shopping area where all the "happenings" took place, and met even more people including some really nice Auburn fans....shocking I know, but there is something to be said about southern hospitality. The game itself did not disappoint, and I enjoyed watching every second of it. I am pretty sure the lady sitting in front of me almost had a heart attack and she literally almost pulled me over the seat while grabbing my arm and screaming. It's funny how quickly you bond with total strangers when it comes to the love of football! I made some great memories and will always remember being apart of such a special day. I can honestly say I have crossed something off my bucket list. Here are a couple pics from the day:

Driving up to the stadium...this was the first time I had ever been to an NFL stadium, and there were about 73,000 people there.

These are a couple pics from the Westgate area...this was a 8:30 in the morning. In the next couple of hours this place was so packed we were walking shoulder to shoulder with people.

We were one of the first people into the pep rally, and we got a great table up front, right by the DJ where I enjoyed several dance songs (yep got my groove on)  :-))

Our friends Matt and Mike.

We ran into Joe Donalon from Channel 8 I think...anyway Matt and Mike were very excited!

This family from Boston came to sit with us, literally right from the movie Good Will Hunting, and they were so nice I enjoyed talking with them for over an hour! They own a bar in Boston and gave us all their contact info, and I have not doubt we would be treated like family if we went there.

Not Puddles, but close enough, and he got everyone pumped up!

The "Duck Nut" stopped by too!

Making our way to the game in a sea of orange and blue...we were seriously outnumbered!

Made it...YEAH!!!

Ran into my parents and aunt and uncle!! They were excited to get to their seats....little did they know they were right in the middle of the Auburn section!!! They were not happy, and my dad made lots of friends quickly....if you know my dad that makes sense!

End of the game...sooo sad!! It was such a great game, though, we could only be proud of the way they played. I will always be haunted by 4th and 1 on the 1 though....why didn't they not kick it...arghhhh!!!?? Oh well there is always next year, and you better believe we will be there if they go again :-)
