32nd Birthday Surprise

Yesterday was the big 32, and I was not planning on doing anything special except maybe go out to dinner.  Apparently Nick had other plans though!! He called and told me he was coming home early, about 2:00, which I thought was nice, but did not think anything of. We went to go get Grant's hair cut and then to pick Jaxson up from school. I then wanted to go to Target to do some shopping for things we don't need, but really want...isn't that what Target is best for :-) We got home and I was going to start getting ready to go to dinner, by this time Nick had told me my parents were watching the kids. He then brings up the overnight bag, and tells me to pack for the night and that he would get the kids ready to spend the night at my parents. I was pretty surprised by all this considering I really did not want to do anything big. Anyways we took the kids to my parents and headed downtown. We pulled up in front of the Marriott Hotel and Nick told me we were going to dinner at the new Ringside in the Fox Towers. After dinner we went to see, "Life as we know it," which was a super cute movie and one that I have really been wanting to see. We don't get out to the movies very often, so this was a very nice treat! It was a perfect evening that was so fun and relaxing, and the best part was I did not have to plan a thing. Of course I brought my new camera, and I was upset that the only pic of the two of us was blurry, oh well I guess it was a fun night regardless!  Here are some from the night:

First I have to show a picture of Grant's new hair cut...he looks like such a big boy!! Just so you know we are waiting in line at Jaxson's school, that is why he is just hanging out in the back seat :-)

View from our room...19th floor!

This is the Pioneer Courthouse that just got done undergoing some serious restoration. It really turned out beautiful!

Just thought the light reflecting off the tree was really neat!

I don't think I have ever taken a picture of this statue before, I have only walked past it a thousand times!

My before dinner martini...thought this was a cool picture.

Dinner at Ringside, so delicious!! The twice baked baked potato with lobster claws should be illegal it was soooo good!!

What a fantastic surprise this all was!! I had an absolute blast, and I really have to give credit where credit is due....thanks babe this was the absolute most thoughtful gift ever!
