Owning California...

As part of the trip down to California to attend Jim's memorial, I got the opportunity to spend a day in the Lake Tahoe area. This was my first time in the area, well since I was about fourteen I mean. A little back story...about that time my dad bought an RV, you know one of those things that any teenager would be mortified to spend time in with their parents and sisters. My parents wanted to take us girls on a road trip, so we set off down to San Francisco and back, stopping at all the attractions along the way. Needless to say being the fourteen year old brat I was I was miserable. We stopped in Tahoe for a day and went swimming and jet skiing, and they only thing I remember is that it was absolutely beautiful.

So back to last weekend....our friends the Bosenbergs generously offered up their condo in Squaw Valley for us to stay at on our first night. On our way there from Sacramento we stopped and did some wine tasting, what a unexpected treat (ok need to clarify something, but not exactly sure how to say this without it coming out wrong...although we were there to celebrate the life of our friend's father, we wanted to celebrate the fact that we were all together as well. It is rare opportunity that so many of us could get time off from work and family to take such a trip, we wanted to to take advantage of our time together as well...hope that makes sense.) We got the chance to do more wine tasting in Squaw followed up by a wonderful sushi dinner.
We woke up early Sunday morning and decided to take the "long" way  to Placerville around the lake. It was an amazing day and I was so glad we did!! I got to see what everyone had been raving about all these years, and it truly did not disappoint.

We did our very best to jam as much as possible in on this short trip...here are some of the memories we made:
